A HandiThings best seller! The Hand Weight is a uniquely designed weighted pouch that rests on the back of the hand allowing for maximum finger, hand and wrist mobility. It is constructed of dark navy compression jersey fabric, lead-free steel shot and heavy duty stitching for added strength and durability. It is held on the hand with elastic finger loops and a hook & loop closure around the wrist. It is recommended for use during fine motor or self help activities or when input on the hands is needed. It can also be beneficial for rehab purposes, reducing tremoring and strengthening activities. Five different sizes are available to accommodate most hand sizes from small children to adults. The weight is reversible and can be worn on either hand. Available individually and in pairs. Size is determined by measuring the back of the hand across the knuckles (not including the thumb). They provide proprioceptive input, increase sensory feedback, enhance kinesthetic awareness, and can be used for strengthening exercises.
Hand Weight™
Description: The Hand Weight is a uniquely designed weighted pouch that rests on the back of the hand. It is held in place by elastic thumb and finger loops and a hook&loop wrist strap, leaving the palm of the hand completely open.
Materials/Construction: The Hand Weight is constructed of durable compression jersey fabric, lead-free steel shot, a hook&loop strip, and uses heavy duty stitching for added strength and durability.
Please note that the elastic finger loops used in this product contain LATEX.
Instructions: The Hand Weight rests on the back of the hand and is held in place by elastic finger loops and a wrist strap. Unlike many of the other “weights” on the market, this palm open design allows maximum finger flexibility and wrist mobility. The weight is reversible and can be worn on the back of either hand.
Colors/Size/Packaging: Available in dark navy blue. The Hand Weight is available in 5 sizes, which are determined by the width of the hand across the knuckles (not including the thumb), with the fingers together and extended (see chart). Sold individually and in pairs.
Comments: Hand washing or wiping with a warm damp cloth and blow-drying is recommended. WARNING: This product contains lead-free steel shot which could present a choking hazard. To insure the safety of the user, adequate supervision is recommended. This product contains LATEX.
